In considering the Biblical characters in the Royal Arch Degree I have excluded those which appear exclusively in the Mark Degree, the Cryptic Degrees and the Side Degrees; Nebuchadnezzar is mentioned briefly but he is actually more prominent in the Cryptic Degrees.
The characters with whom I will deal in this paper are Zerubbabel, Haggai, Jeshua, Ezra and Nehemiah, who are the principal characters, and Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon, Cyrus King of Persia, and the prophet Jeremiah who are minor characters.
