By the courtesy of V. W. Bro. W. A. Harlow, P.G.C., I have been enabled to examine a manuscript, now 50 years old, which contains the ritual worked at that time and earlier by one, and later by two, of the South Island lodges.
The lodge whose ceremonies it primarily presents was constituted in the early sixties under the Scottish Constitution.
In the first decade of the twentieth century its office-bearers, and many of its Brethren, decided to apply for a charter to G.L.
The manuscript indicates in pencil the change of the Master's style from "R.W.M." to "W.M.", and there are some other minor pencilled alterations which it is not necessary to notice.
