First of all I desire to express the appreciation of the Master and Brethren of the United Masters' Lodge in inviting a paper from one of our members, and also to convey my own thanks for the honour which has been extended to me in permitting me to address your Lodge of Research.
I can assure you that at the outset I was rather uncertain as to what subject to address you upon, but on perusing the papers which have been given previously before your Lodge, I thought that perhaps something of a different nature would be acceptable. I have therefore chosen as my subject "Lodges of Yesteryear."
