Freemasonry has advanced considerably since the beginning of the eighteenth century – the century which saw the initiation of our modern order.
It has advanced even further when we consider it in the days of the operative Masons – the days when men gained a place in the craft only when they were justly entitled to it, through their ability as craftsmen.
