The Bible is the greatest book in the world. No other book is so widely circulated in so many different languages ; the latest total given is 735, and of these over 200 have been added within the last thirty years, and more are being added every year.
One well-known organisation, the British and Foreign Bible Society, publishes the whole text or portions in 579 different languages, and spent over £450,000 last year in assisting its circulation. The mere statistics — the facts and figures of circulation — are sufficient to put the V.S.L. far above any " best seller'' in the publishing world.
