This was a question asked of the Lodge recently by a relatively new Brother.
There is quite a bit of dispute about this "fire", and no definite answers.
Sometimes the actions are silent, while in other Lodges the actions are accompanied with words, and with a number of variations around those actions.
The real history of the office of Tyler, the Tylers Toast and the ‘Masonic Fire’ or ‘Silent Fire’ is lost in the mists of early masonic time.
It must also be said that around the world there are many different “Tylers Toast” ( or Final Toasts) wordings and also many actions. In some jurisdictions the Final Toast is not given by the Tyler but by one of the Wardens.
