I confess it is with somewhat mixed feelings that I now assume the dignity of the Chair of this Research Lodge, and I humbly express my gratitude and thanks for the high honour you have conferred upon me.
I have a sense of the magnitude and importance of the task before me; nevertheless, I have a modest hope that with your help we shall achieve at least a modicum of valuable work in the ensuing year.
