This paper is not the result of "research" in its truly literal sense but rather the outcome of occasional musings at odd moments upon matters concerned with our craft.
And among these musings the writer has been moved to wonder how many of our Brethren have ever attempted to analyse and to consider the possible significance of the title which we, as Freemasons, have accepted to ourselves and by which we designate that particular Institution to which we have sworn to give our full allegiance.
