The Brethren will all be conversant with the Lesser Lights change given immediately after the obligation in the First Degree.
It is interesting first of all to note that while reference is made to the Lesser Lights in the first part of the change the remainder is devoted to an explanation of the reasons why the cable-tow and poinard are used in the penalty of the obligation.
