Before proceeding to the lecture itself, I would like to make a few introductory remarks. First and foremost, let it be clearly understood that the lecture means exactly what it says, because in the first instance I was asked to deliver some simple message —something which the brethren could use in their ordinary everyday lives.
So I endeavoured to approach the matter with the simple directness of a child's mind, seeking to find
some simple truth in our Masonic Teaching : and as I did this, I was amazed myself at the marvellous
simplicity of our Teaching.
Therefore, brethren, do not look for any great mystical meaning in my words tonight, but rather take them just as they are— the simple words of a humble brother who, knowing very little, has yet discovered that the power to work miracles is in existence to-day, just as much as it was many
years ago.
