Records and Specifications of 1189 said that stone was used for smaller buildings such as Domestic dwellings, Stone for the Foundations, the Lower Structure and the dividing walls in the Lower Structure, whilst timber was used for the Superstructure on the second level, also for parts of the Lower Structure.
