No paper dealing with Freemasonry would be considered complete without some allusion to its origin.
I read a book some time ago, dated 1752, which purported to give some authentic account of origins, and which stated that the Divine Creator had implanted in Adam, at his creation, the mysteries of geometry that in turn he had transmitted this knowledge to his two sons, Cain and Abel, and my authority announced that Adam was the first Grand Master, and the two sons the Grand Wardens.
So, down to King Solomon, all the leading characters mentioned in Holy Writ were described as Grand Masters.
