Light is the first symbol given the Candidate in his Masonic life.
It is the first answer to his first request. When revealed to him it guides his steps through the whole of his masonic life and as he passes from degree to degree, its significance is more fully explained to him.
Suffice it is to say that light is perhaps the most generally accepted symbol of truth, or the divine, used by mankind.
