While there will always be room for debate on the details of design and size, and there have been different versions of the principal Temples, the picture can be made sufficiently clear for Free Masons to be assured of the physical characteristics.
The purpose of the lecture was to portray the sacred area, enabling the Brethren to more completely appreciate the scenes of long ago and the teachings of Christianity and of the Craft; to confer something of the intense interest of the ground traversed by famous characters of the Old and New Testaments, and particularly those founders of the Craft whose teachings we follow to-day.
