All Craftsmen are familiar with the injunction to study Geometry, the foundation of our Order. Geometry, or Masonry, originally synonymous terms, is of a Divine and Moral nature, and enriches the student with the most useful knowledge ; and whilst it proves the wonderful properties of Nature, demonstrates the more useful truths of Morality.
This is a cryptic sentence, and to one whose Masonic knowledge is limited it means little or nothing.
It would appear that most of the rulers and teachers of Masonry are neglecting the duty of instructing the Brethren in Masonry. In fact, in many Lodges the Masters themselves do not realise the important truths that be learned by the study of Geometry
