The intention in my mind is to bring before the Brethren some of the failures of Astronomical Science, or rather some of the earlier concepts of the Universe which, though erroneous in themselves, have yet served as stepping-stones whereby astronomers have attained to a certain degree of accurate knowledge in the present day.
I shall also endeavour to indicate to you the lines upon which research is now proceeding, and will do my best to present the subject in a manner that will commend it to your further consideration.
