A contemplative review of the members of our Craft will reveal to the thoughtful Brother that to a large majority, Masonry is but a social institution.
Brethren desire to be led along the paths of physical contentment, mental and bodily comfort.
We expect those we place in authority, to provide for our wants, and regard preferment as their reward.
I would remind Brethren that although the social activities of their Lodges are valuable assets to communal happiness, they do not represent the precious possessions they can acquire from a proper knowledge of the tenets and principles of our Order.
