Unfortunately, like the political partisan who will only read papers supporting the views of his party, and will not listen to or read any argument on behalf of the other side, there are many Masons who are only interested in the expression of such opinions as coincide with their own, no matter how often they may be repeated.
From such repetition of accepted doctrines practically nothing can be learnt, but if any new line of thought is put forward —that is, new to the hearers, for there is little thought even now that was not known to the Ancient Philosophers — there are far too many only too ready to dismiss it as nonsense, or the flight of a too vivid imagination.
