It is, perhaps, well to say, in the first place, that this work falls naturally into two parts; the duties that are annexed to an Almoner's appointment and come within the scope of service to his own Lodge, and those within the province of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Canterbury Almoner's Association; for, by virtue of his appointment as Almoner, a brother becomes his Lodge's representative on the Association.
