A Lodge very often makes the mistake of selecting for the office of Director of Ceremonies an inexperienced young Mason.
I do not wish to imply that a young Mason is incapable of becoming an efficient officer, but the appointment usually indicates an imperfect estimate of duties and a want of appreciation of a deportment agreeable to those in office and becoming alike to visitors of all degrees of rank or membership.
