In placing myself before you to-night I propose to touch upon a phase of affairs Masonic which is not commonly dealt with, at least in this district.
It must be clearly understood that in no way do I reflect upon any particular brother or Lodge; I speak simply from a common sense conclusion on the misunderstandings and really innocent irregularities on the part of indeed many Masons.
Numerous points for the welfare and regularity of our principles and teachings are not explained by our workings, nor are they expressly stated in our ritual, although I am prepared to admit all are implied more or less throughout the completeness of the Articles of Constitution or our ritual, but the deplorable lack of attention or thought gives rise to misunderstandings, misconstruction and false ideas on many essentials.
