A few months ago, I had the pleasure of reading a paper in this Lodge on " The Religious Basis of Freemasonry."
In that paper I briefly analysed and discussed the main religious dogmas which form the foundation of what I may call our Masonic creed.
The paper which it is my privilege to read to you to-night is in a very large measure complementary to the one that I have just mentioned.
I have to ask your attention for a short time while I make a few remarks on the ethical basis of Freemasonry, that is to say, on the structure of practical morality that our institution has erected upon the religious basis to which I have just referred.
