When attending Installation meetings and events where Grand Chapter Officers are present, variations in collar insignia and apron badges may be observed.
To understand the reasons for this, it is helpful to have some historical background.
Initially Grand Chapter Officers wore the regalia of the Constitution they had belonged to before joining the New Zealand Constitution.
On 20 January 1897 Grand Chapter agreed to clothe its active rank senior officers and purchased five sets of regalia.
At the 1926 Convocation, all Grand Chapter regalia was recalled and subjected to a thorough overhaul. Additional sets were also ordered.
At the Convocation on 13 August 1930, Supreme Committee gave authority for additional regalia to be procured.
