The object of this paper is to bring into greater prominence the man whom I consider to be the prime mover in establishing Freemasonry in Australia—Samuel Clayton.
Whilst Worshipful Brother Samuel Clayton, to give him his Masonic title, has not been totally overlooked by Masonic researchers, he has never received the full credit which I consider is due to him.
