As you well know, the term "G. A. O. T. U." is widely used among Masons, being the name given to the Deity.
In both the opening and closing of the Lodge, as well as in ceremony of the First Degree, this term is used. In other degrees we use the terms "G. G.." and "the Most High," and "Supreme Governor." And this term is commonly used in Masonic speech, other than in the Lodge itself.
We use the name of "God" and "Almighty God" and "Lord," and in reference to the V. S. L. we speak of its "Divine Author."
