The elements of consecration have a part in the consecration ceremony.
Consecration means to make holy and comes from the Latin word for sacred.
Other ceremonies are:
Dedication, from the Latin “to tell”, so it means to announce.
Constitution from the Latin “to stand”, i.e. establish.
Constitution is only used if a new Lodge is created. In this instance application to the Grand Lodge is made for a warrant or license. If successful a charter or certificate is given and a Lodge number is issued.
