This whole journey was started after visiting the Peter Jackson WWI exhibition where I found the cap badge mounted in a cabinet along with other military cap badges and I felt that there has to be some connection between Freemasonry in the lower Hawke's Bay area and an Army group known as the Ruahine Regiment.
Previously, one of our young and enthusiastic Master Masons had, without full discussion with other more senior brethren of the Lodge, made with good intentions a large Pentagram which he placed on the pavement of the Lodge.
