I recently presented the Working Tools in the Third Degree.
You will recall how the compasses are expected to remind us of divine justice and the limits of good and evil, and it is this theme that I have chosen to enlarge on tonight.
To begin, good and evil may be seen, not just in the ethical sense of right and wrong, but in relation to truth and falsity, beauty and ugliness.
This carries us to consider logic, aesthetics and art.
True beauty is the quality which things have when they are good. As the poet Keats so neatly put it: Beauty is truth, truth beauty.
