On visiting almost any lodge room in the country a mason would expect to find it containing emblems of symbolism we all know well ... such as the jewels of the officers, the working tools, the pillars, the tracing boards, the mosaic pavement and so on.
On occasion, though, a brother might find himself in a Lodge Room where there is some object that displays a piece of Masonic symbolism with which he is not familiar, and which, we hope, arouses his curiosity and causes him to investigate its meaning.
Mention of Lodges that have such novel or unusual symbolism are sometimes heard discussed, as most of us will have experienced, in the course of casual conversation in refectory or during long car trips while visiting Lodges, for example.
Most brethren who make it their habit to visit usually have a story about at least one such curiosity.
