We start from the following principles:
(1) A freemason must have a belief in a Supreme Being (undefined)
(11) No regular lodge can be working without the VSL being open.
(111) In the course of our ceremonies, reference is made to the VSL and masons take obligations thereon. (IV) It is a mark of brotherliness, and masonic regularity, for a lodge to ensure that a VSL is available to candidates which is that volume which is held by his particular creed as being sacred and approved, and imparts solemnity to an obligation taken in reference to it.
