The first thing I want to say, Brethren, in this Lecture is to state the fact, that unless you are conversant with the V.O.T.S.L. and the historical truths contained therein, you will miss the beauty of Masonic teaching and the wealth of knowledge it extends to one's own spiritual and moral character.
Secondly, I wish to state I am not delivering a Sermon, although it may incline to be of that nature.
I noticed in our evening papers, recently, that the Masons in England claimed to be a religion and had their claim tried before the Judge of a London court.
I have looked up the definition of Religion, it means " an acknowledgment of our obligation to God, practical piety, devotion, any system of faith and worship."
