King Solomon’s Temple, completed in about 965-960BC.
The date of its completion is uncertain, but most scholars agree on those limits. It was totally destroyed by the army of Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC, thus having had a life of about 375 - 379 years, not 410 years, as stated.
The second Temple was completed in 516 BC, after being built by the Jews on their return to Jerusalem from Babylon under the decree of Cyrus.
This Temple is also known as the Temple of Zerubbabel.
Herod the Great became King of Judea in 40BC.
He built on a truly monumental scale, both in Jerusalem and in the surrounding towns and areas.
