This Degree is often relegated in our minds to an inferior position compared to the 1st Degree or the 3rd Degree. I suppose this is natural in some ways as the First Degree is what it says - the first time a candidate enters the Lodge. It has quite a traumatic aura about it as we have seen on the faces of some candidates at the conclusion of this degree.
